Himachal to collaborates with NeGD to improve public services: Dr. Nipun Jindal
Director Digital Technology and Governance, Dr. Nipun Jindal, today here informed that the State Government, in collaboration with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and IT, Government of India, successfully organized first Awareness and Sensitization Workshop on User Experience & Design System at IT Bhawan, Shimla. He said that this initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing digital governance in the state.
Dr. Jindal emphasized the importance of user-centric design in effectively delivering public services. This workshop was a crucial step in ensuring that the services provided to citizens are not only effective but also user-friendly.
He said that key topics like user experience principles, design adoption and the implementation of the UX4G Design System were also discussed during the workshop. He said that a practical demonstration and a case study on the eDistrict Portal of the State provided participants with valuable insights.
The Director also highlighted the need for further workshops, including hands-on sessions, to enhance the adoption of user experience best practices across the digital platforms of the state.
The workshop featured sessions led by experts from the UX4G Project of NeGD.
Senior decision-making officers and representatives from NIC, Information & Public Relations, Forest, Health, Public Works, Fisheries, Revenue, Panchayati Raj, State Taxes and Excise, Agriculture, Horticulture, HPTDC, WCD, State Pollution Control Board and Police Department participated in the event and expressed keen interest in integrating the design system to improve public service delivery.
