Himachal State CID making assessment to provide security to a businessman booked on the complaint of state DGP
The State Home Department and Law enforcement agencies in Himachal Pradesh are virtually affixed in a brewing controversy after registration of an FIR registered against a businessman belonging to Palampur and Gurugram by the state Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu and mounting pressure on the SP Shimla and SP Kangra to lodge counter FIR against the DGP on the complaint of businessman booked by state police recently.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu who was also holding the portfolio of Home and is currently in charge of state law and order currently taking health services in AIIMS he looking after the official matter of CMO online but didn’t seize over this matter brewing controversy of high profile organised spat drawing the attention of the public at large.
On Wednesday Chief Secretary Prabodh Sexsen faced a volley of media queries on the issue and he responded in an affable. manure and announced that the state Criminal Investigation Department would make an assessment if security cover could be extended to Businessman Nishant Sharma on his complaint.
The Chief Secretary said that state governments have normally so many complaints and they always try to investigate them after the enquiry desired action is being taken in this matter discreet enquiry is being done and this matter is also in a state of enquiry.
He said that if enquiry would find anything against the DGP action would also be taken as per the law.
The issue took a sudden ugly turn after the chronology of a public feud between the two. At the beginning of the controversy, Businessman Nishant Kumar Sharma resident of the Bundla tea estate in Palampur of Kangra district addressed a press conference at Palampur and lodged a complaint against SP Kangra alleging an inevitable threat to his and his family’s life and property.
The personal fight came recently when DGP Sanjay Kundu lodged an FIR in a police station in Shimla.
The Increment materials in possession of our reporter suggest that said incident in which both the parties claimed victim and accused each other of perpetrating offences against each other began on October 27, 2023, when telephone calls were made to Prashant Kumar Sharma on behalf of DGP and he failed to respond and it was followed by passing of some electronic message.
The complaint was made by Prashant Kumar Sharma on this issue to SP Kangra on October 28 after alleged attempts by a few goons at Bhagsunag in Meclodganj in Dharmshala.
A complaint was also made to DGP Sanjay Kundu by Nishant Kumar Sharma after the October 27 alleged incident of calls by the state police to a Businessman.
On Nov 5 an FIR was lodged at police station Shimla against the businessmen which was also rebuttal later by filing a volley of complaints in the matter from Prez and PM of India, Guv & CM, Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh and secretary Home.
Responding to allegations of alleged frantic calls made to this businessman and the above acquisition DGP has moved a complaint in the police station terming the matter rubbish and he preferred to not speak on the issue.
