Himachal schools witness turn up of 59.33 pc after Covid lockdown

Himachal Pradesh witnessed heavy enthusiasm among students as middle, high and senior secondary schools opened here today after covid lockdown. Director higher Education of Himachal Pradesh Mr Amarjeet Singh said that out of total 373761 students in 8th to Ten plus two as many as 221747 present today which come to 59.33 pc. 8th classes started after a gap of one years and seven month today recorded turn up of 48.95 pc as 2, 8536 students were present out of total 62175. 9th class recorded footfall of 60.81 pc out of total 71000 around 42832 were present, In 10th class 67 .24 pc (total  69346 students 47263 were present, In 11th 55.48 pc ( total 97178 student 53913 present )   and 12 th 65.72 pc ( total 74062 student  49203 present) respectively.
After a long break, eighth standard offline classes  started today in Himachal Pradesh as a maximum number of students of various government and non-government Institutions turned up in the school this morning.
Mr. Amarjeet Singh and that school were opened following Covid SoPs and physical distancing this morning on Monday. After a long break of more than one and half years students and pupils came face to face in the state on Monday however students under 8th standard continue to be online classroom studies due to the coronavirus pandemic, he said.
He said that during the first and second wave all schools didn’t  continue offline classes but with declining positivity rates and Vaccination of about 80 to 90 percent population, online classes above 8th standard started in offline or physical classrooms.
He said that earlier on September 27 the department had reopened for students of Classes 9 to 12 in the state.
Director said that the council of ministers met on September 24 decided to open schools for Classes 8th to 12th standard with substantial improvement in the Covid situation in Himachal Pradesh and the positivity rate.

Amarjeet Singh director said that all principal and Headmaster have to ensure all SOPs, including staggering of students beside this micro  plans and sitting arrangements have been prepared by school management l according to availability of space and accommodation in their Institutions.
State government had issued notification on October 8 taking the decision that all schools and educational institutions above 8th standard to be open from today onwards however classes below eighth standard continue to be off .
The order said that any person violating these measures and not following COVID appropriate behavior will be liable to be proceeded against as per the provision of Section 51-60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides legal action under Sec. 188 of the IPC, and other legal provisions as applicable.
Universities, undergraduate classes in the Colleges, boarding schools, Coaching and tuition Academy were already allowed to open in the state with effect in the months of August and September under enforcement of strict Covid standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines, he added.
