Himachal records 30 pc excess rain or snow in this winter
The state of Himachal recorded cumulative 250 mm rain or snow in this winter, which was 30 per cent excess in season as the month of January rained largely excess , the Indian Metalogical Department said in a press release issued here today. Spokesperson of IMD said that 12 western disturbances registered during winter season ( in January and February ). In month of January rain or snow was normal in Lahaul – Spiti and Kinnaur but large excess or above 60 pc in rest of districts in the state. In Month Feb district Kinnaur received deficient rainfall while remaining districts received normal to large excess rainfall. State was coldest (minimum) minus 16.7 degree Celsius (Keylong) Jan 28 and warmest(Max) 27.6 degree Celsius(Una) on Feb 22. In the winter Kothi (Kullu) had highest 70 cm snow and Nahan was wettest with 76 mm rain. Total 250 mm Cumulative rain or snow recorded all over the state from( Jan 1 to Feb 28) which was excess by 30 pc state compared to 70 pc deficient in 2021, 68 pc and 45 pc excess in 2020 and 2019.
