Himachal receives rain & snowfall

Himachal Pradesh received thunderstorm , rain and While tourist resorts Kufri , Fagu and Narkanda continue to receive snowfall , Shimla and nearby areas including Solan , Sirmaur and Bilaspur district witnessed icy cold and  intermittent rain.  
According to police sources , vehicular traffic was disrupted at Kufri and Fagu as the roads at Kufri and Narkanda were covered with five to ten cm snow .
The Met office recorded 14.6 cm snow in Shimla till 0830 hrs and tourist Kufri 7.5 cm and Narkanda Five cm. In Lahaul-Spiti Gondhla had 30 cm(one feet) Keylong 10.0 cm, Hansa 7.5 cm. Rohtang one feet or 30 cm, Atal Tunnel 18 cm, Kamrunag and Prashar lake in Mandi 23cm, Shikari Mata 28 cm, Tirund 30 cm and Dharmshala Galu 12 mm.
Jubberhati in Shimla district had 22.7 mm rain, Poanta Sahib 18.4 mm, Nahan 2.5 mm and Una and Chamba one mm.

 Lahaul – Spiti district’s Sissu area continued to receive snowfall . The depth of fresh snow is about five cm ( two inches ). The snow depth towards the South Portal ( toward Manali ) is about ten cm ( four inches ) . The police said that in all weather ATR could facilitate only four by four wheels emergency vehicles as it is extremely slippery and risky to approach upto the Atal tunnel.
 The Kinnuar district’s high reach experienced heavy snowfall since overnight and the district administration announced advisory to tourists and local people asking them not to climb in high altitude places.
Owing to bad weather , the state government has deployed snowcutters and emergency vehicles and evacuation of people in case of closing down of road and highways due to snowfall .
 Yellow alert was made in the state for Saturday. In the first week of 2022, it is the third consecutive major spell of snow and rain in the state.
Minimum temperature of Keylong was minus five degrees, Kalpa and Kufri minus two degrees each, Shimla and Dalhousie 0.2 degrees, Manali 2.4 degreesJubberhati 4.6 degrees, Solan 4.8 degrees, Dharmshala 6.4 degrees,Dharamshala 6.4 degrees, Bhuntar 7.4 degrees, Palampur 7.5 degrees, Chamba 7.7 degrees, Sundernagar eight degrees, Mandi 8.2 degrees, Una 9 degrees, Hamirpur 9.6 degrees, Nahan 9.7 degrees, Bilaspur ten degrees, Kangra 10.3 degrees and Ponta-Sahib 11.8 degrees respectively.
Met office forecast widespread rain or Snowfall in many places in the state during next 24hrd and yellow alert of heavy snowfall and thunderstorms in isolated places .
