Himachal Pradesh Weather Alert: Heavy Rainfall and Strong Winds Expected in 9 Districts

The Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning for nine districts in Himachal Pradesh, excluding Hamirpur, Chamba, and Lahaul-Spiti, predicting heavy rainfall and strong winds until September 13. Several areas across the state experienced moderate to heavy rainfall last night, with overcast skies seen in the capital and surrounding regions since Wednesday.

The department has also forecasted the possibility of more heavy rain today. A yellow alert has been issued for 10 districts, except Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur, for September 12 and 13, with warnings of severe weather, including thunderstorms and lightning strikes.

In light of the alert, residents are being urged to avoid rivers, streams, and landslide-prone areas for safety. While the weather is expected to stay rough until September 17, no alerts have been issued for rainfall during September 14-17.
