Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti will start a drug prevention campaign
Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti is soon going to start a big campaign against drugs so that the youth can be saved from this evil. Regarding which the committee held a review meeting in its state office in which professors from state universities and colleges, former professors, retired officers from various departments, and people associated with social and cultural fields gave their valuable views.
State Secretary of the committee, Satyawan Pundir said that till now meetings have been organized on this subject in 9 districts. Meanwhile, the committee team has also visited de-addiction centers and rehabilitation centers. He said that from March 29 to 31, the committee is going to organize a three-day training in Mandi for about 50 leadership workers from across the state. After that, this campaign will be brought on the ground.
On this occasion, Dr. Randhir Ranta, Professor of Psychology of Interdisciplinary Studies at Himachal University, while discussing the technical aspects related to drug addiction, said that today the danger among the youth due to synthetic drugs has increased a lot. Due to this inferiority complex is increasing among the youth. Today’s youth are feeling stressed, and worried about their career. Dr. Ravi Bhushan, a retired professor of St. Bede’s College, said that due to curiosity among the children of the teenage group and being unaware of the ill effects of drugs, they are getting trapped in drugs due to bad company.
Retired College Principal Dr. Reena Singh, while emphasizing the need for appropriate intervention through schools, said that children will have to be motivated toward creative work through proper guidance and innovative activities.
