Himachal Government under Sukhu will complete its five-year tenure

MLA Suresh Kumar, Ranjit Singh Rana and Chairman Kangra Cooperative Bank Kuldeep Singh Pathania in a joint press statement issued today stated that after joining the BJP, Rajendra Rana and Ashish Sharma were making baseless statements in an attempt to demonstrate their loyalty to senior BJP leaders. They said that the biggest threat to senior BJP leadership now comes from these newly-inducted members.

They further asserted that the present State Government under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is completely stable and will complete its five-year tenure. They mocked at the BJP leaders for repeatedly day dreaming and announcing dates for forming the BJP government. In the recent bye-elections, Congress once again secured a strong majority bringing the number of its MLAs to 40 and the people of the State completely rejected the claims of the BJP leaders to make ‘Operation Lotus’ a success, by giving mandate to the people in the bye-elections as well.

The Congress leaders accused BJP of forming a new group of advisors spreading propaganda against the interests of the state. They claimed that these advisors would inevitably cause harm to the BJP and the actions of Rajendra Rana and Ashish Sharma should not be overlooked.

They also alleged that a MLA from BJP was deeply involved in illegal mining, labelling him the biggest mafia in the area. During the tenure of previous BJP government they claimed that interests of Himachal Pradesh were neglected by the “double-engine government” and looted the wealth of the state. The present Congress government however has shut the doors to corruption and has generated over Rs. 2200 crore in additional revenue within just one year. This revenue was being utilized by the Chief Minister to implement innovative schemes and welfare programs for various sections of the state.

The leaders said that the Congress Government has fulfilled five out of the ten guarantees made to the public within its 23 months in office. They highlighted that the cost of implementing these five guarantees was less than the additional revenue earned in the fiscal year.
