Govt to Provide Transparent, responsive and accountable administration: Sukhu
Providing transparent, responsive and accountable administration has remained the main motto of the present State Government headed by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. It was the need of the hour to adopt multiple technology platforms and the best practices to be followed along with bringing administrative reforms both at the State and district level to promote a sense of satisfaction and a feeling amongst the people that the government in the true sense is serious to redress their grievances in no time at their very doorstep and cares for their welfare.
The Chief Minister during his recent sojourn to Kangra district had made a point to meet and interact with people daily, from morning till late night at Circuit House, Dharamshala and also during his tour to different areas of the state to redress their problems and directed the officers to ensure timely redressal of the grievances.
He said that this requires a paradigm shift in governance to a system where the citizen is to be kept at the center stage and consulted for the formulation and implementation of public policy. To meet the objective, a public service which is capable, innovative and forward looking, is required. Chief Minister gave clear directions to the public servants to develop, evolve and implement the grievances redressal system effectively to meet the genuine demands of the society that it has to serve and work for proper and time bound redressal of public grievances.
I want to provide an accountable administration to the people of the State. said the Chief Minister, adding that to meet this requirement, the State Government will soon devise an effective mechanism and strengthen the functioning of the helpline number for which directions have already been issued to the officers of IT Department.
He has also stressed upon starting innovative schemes such as Whatsapp, Chat-bots and Voice Bots for taking automated feedback from the citizens.
It is necessary that the State government agencies collaborate, connect, and respond to the needs of the public more efficiently by accessing accurate and real-time data. The State Government has recently has launched the ‘Him Data Portal’ a common digital platform to integrate data of all organizations for the deliverance of welfare schemes and to better serve the public since the most important asset of 21st century is data and the timely collection of correct information. The State Government is working to make Himachal an exemplary state of the country by using innovation and information technology.
Him Data Portal will bring valuable data from multiple domains together of various departments which will help in visualizing, patterns, gaps, opportunities and connections cohesively which will result in strengthening efficiency in governance and to reach and facilitate the last man in the queue.
