Himachal Congress pays tributes to Mahatma Gandhi
Himachal State Congress President Kuldeep Singh Rathore and other party leader paid tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister of the country Late Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary.
Mr Rathore, CLP leader Mr Mukesh Agnihotir and party leaders paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and L B Shastri and said that both leaders have made a great contribution in the independence of the country. Congress leaders, party office bearers and workers paid homage to the portrait of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri at the State Congress Headquarters Rajiv Bhawan today. During this, Rathore said that the message of non-violence given by Mahatma Gandhi to the world is as relevant today as it was at that time. Mr Rathore said that recently the President of America also remembered Mahatma Gandhi and called him great. It is a matter of great pride for this country. He said path shown by Mahatama Gandhi is more relevant today in the country and whole world to follow the path of non-violence of Mahatma Gandhi.
Recalling Shastri’s contribution to the country, Rathore said that the slogan of Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, which he gave, inspired people’s love and respect for the soldiers who guard the borders of our country and the farmers who produce food in the country. During this, Secretary, AICC in-charge of state affairs, Sanjay Dutt, Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri, MLA Asha Kumari, Dr. Col Dhaniram Shandil, Ramlal Thakur, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, former MLA Harsh Mahajan and many state Congress officials, Seva Dal, Office bearers and workers of various departments of Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI and Congress Party were present.
