Himachal CM, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to present his first budget for finical year 2023-24 on 17 th March
Himachal Pradesh Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu who holds the portfolio of finance would present general budget of Himachal Pradesh on March 17. The Budget session will be convened by the Governor at the Council Chamber in Shimla from March 14,2023. Interacting with the media person about preparation of the budget session Vidhansabha speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania stated that during session total of 18 meetings will be conducted . The Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu would present his first general budget for finical year 2023-24 on March 17. The members of the house would participate in budget discussion till March 23. Two days i.e. 16 March and March 24 would be dedicated for the private members’ days and the house would vote for the budget on March 29.
For the session members of assembly have already been given notice to ask and get reply of , 543 starred and 189 . Members of the house should send notice to raise questions till March 22 to Vidhansabha Secretariat by online and offline. To run the session smoothly and allow members to participate under the rules, the speaker had also convened an all-party meeting on March 13. Mr Pathania said that he would appeal to all the political parties and members to help him run the proceedings of the house in a peaceful manner and maintaining the dignity of the August house.
Responding to the call of protest by BJP against the speaker and statement made by former assembly speaker Vipin Parmar, Mr Pathania advised the former speaker to choose his language carefully towards the chair. He said that Parmar himself has been the Speaker of the house, media & members know everything about his conduct which is also present in the records. The Legislative Assembly has been formed recently, every member would like to discuss the issues and problems related to public interest moreover opposition and BJP legislative members would get enough time to raise their point of view but every member should keep it in their mind that the house cannot be allowed to become a platform for politics and the House should run within the ambit of the rule and not under the duress of the opposition, Speaker added. This is second session of 14th Legislative Assembly as winter and oath taking ceremony has happened at Tapovan Dharmshala assembly complex which was also addressed by the Governor.
