Himachal achieves only 29.8 pc of Covid testing last week
With opening up of Educational institutions and sudden increase in the footfall of tourists in the state, health authority is not able to achieve target testing as only 29.9 pc of Covid tests was being conducted in the Himachal.
Spokespersons of health department shared the Weekly Covid report from Sep 27 to Oct 3 said that out of target testing of 175140 tests state could conducted 52220 tests which is 29.8 per cent . In Kangra district against 37800 target only 10074( 26.7 pc) tests were achieved, In Mandi against target of 25200 just 4271 (16.9) tests, Shimla target 21000 achieved 5569 (26.5 pc) Chamba target- 13440 and achieved – 3673 (27.3 pc) Bilaspur target-10080 and achieved5948 (59 pc).
Hamirpur target 11700 and achieved 05592(47.6 pc) Sirmaur target 13440 and achieved 2409(17.9 pc) Solan 15120 and achieved 4944 (32.7 pc) Una 13440 and achieved 6107 (45.4 pc) Kullu 10920 pc and achieved 2082 (19.1 pc) and Kinnaur 2100 and achieved 929 (44..2 pc) and Lahaul Spiti 840 and achieved 622 (74 pc) respectively.
The report said that 13024 (24.9 pc) under gone molecular or RT-PCR testing and 39196 RAT test
Out of 52220 testes 1086 were tested positive for Covid which include 274 in Kangra, 251 in Hamirpur district161 in Mandi, 121 in Bilaspur, 91 in Shimla, 62 in Una and 52 in Solan, 22 in Kullu , 21 in Chamba ,five LahaulSpiti and four in Sirmaur.
The positivity rate of state was 2.1 and which was highest in Hamirpur and 3.8 in Mandi during the week 12 people died of Covid including five in Kangra and three in Mandi one each in Shimla, Una, Chamba and Hamirpur.
Soon After declaring a byelection in the state people especially tourists are not wearing mask properly or maintaining social distancing in the public cases and number of cases were reported among students and nursing trainee during the week..
