Higher reaches of Himachal experiences fresh spell of snowfall
The upper reaches of Himachal Pradesh snowing for the last three days also experienced a fresh spell of snowfall on Tuesday and cloudy and wet weather conditions also prevailed in the rest of the state. According to the Meteorological Department Churdhar ranges (Sirmaur), Rohtang Pass, Jalori Pass ( Kullu), Hatu Peak, Chanshal( Shimla), and Jot (Chamba) received light snowfall. The minimum temperature of Keylong was 0.7 degrees coldest of this season.
District administration Lahaul Spiti issued a travel advisory to tourists and other commuters that the NH-03 (Manali – Sarchu) road from Darcha to Sarchu is closed for all types of vehicular movement due to snowfall. It has been stated earlier that early snowfall has disrupted vehicular traffic between Manali-Leh(Between Darcha to Leh for the last three days. Passengers are requested to travel carefully beyond Darcha. Darcha – Shinkula) road is closed for all types of vehicular movement due to snowfall. The general public is requested not to travel unnecessarily.
According to Meteorological Department Tourists resort Dalhousie had around 80 mm rain, Chamba 74 mm, Kasauli (Solan) 42, Rohru (Shimla) 32, Paonta Sahib(Sirmour) 28.4, Jogindernagar(Mandi) 28 mm, Shimla 26.6, Jubberhati airport 23mm, Dharmshala 20 mm, Manali 12mm, Solan 21 mm, Kufri 19 mm and Narkanda 12.5 mm.
Met Office issued a forecast of light to moderate rain in Sirmour, Solan, Shimla, Bilaspur, Mandi, and Hamirpur and snow in Lahaul Spiti, Kangra, and Chamba districts in the next 24 hours.
