Heavy snowfall on HP high reaches
The high reaches of Himachal Pradesh experienced heavy snowfall on Wednesday and downstream lashed by rain and thunder showers, the Met Office said.
In Lahaul-Spiti districtGondla had 35 cm snow, Keylong & Kukumsari-26 cm each, Kalpa in Kinnuar 12 cm Sumdo& Kothi in Kullu 10 cm each, Pooh-6, Sangla-5 & Moorang (Kinnuar)-4 cm.
The gateway of Lahaul-Spiti district 13050 ft high Rohtang pass, Kunzum pass, Lady of Keylong, Baralacha and Saptarshi, Kinner Kailash of Kinnuar Manimahesh of Chamba, Dhauldhar ranges of Kangra received heavy snowfall.
An Avalanche also hit Manali-ATR-Keylong highways near beeling nalah this afternoon disrupting vehicular traffic on Manali-ATR-Keylong and Manali-Sarchu highways for many hours.
Tourist resort Manali had 40 mm rain and Saluni 23 mm,Chamba & Dalhousie 19 cm each,Tinder of Kullu had-18 mm rain, Kothi-17 mm, Banjar-16 mm, Chatrari in Chamba & Chopal in Shimla 13 mm each, Seobagh(Kullu) 11 mm, Bajura & Kotkhai (Shimla) 10 mm each, Kandaghat (Solan) 9 mm and Bhuntar(Kullu) Jubbal(Shimla), Bijahi (Mandi)& jogindernagar-7 mm each.
Keylong (Lahaul-Spiti) was coldest in the state with Minimum temperature at minus 3degree Celsius, Kalpa (Kinnaur) -0.6, Kufri(Shimla) minus 2.6, Manali(Kullu) One, Shimla 5.2, Dalhousie (Chamba) 2.7, Solan 7.2 Bhuntar (Kullu) 8.4, Dharmshala and Mandi 11.4, Chamba 10.5 Kangra 14 Hamirpur 9, Bilaspur 10 Palampur (Kangra) 10, Una 13and Nahan(Sirmour) 9.5 degree Celsius.
The Met Office forecast rain and snow at isolated places during next 24hrs.
