Heatwave- Drowning toll increase to three
The sweltering heatwave leading to increase in the casualties as three people have died in last 24 hrs in the state due to drowning in the river.
A 42 yrs old man identified as Umash Chauhan resident of Chhupari village of lowerkoti area of Rohru died after drowning in Pabbar river on Tuesday. Body of deceased was recovered a police officer confirmed.
Two person also died on Tuesday under Poanta-Shaib area of Sirmaur who were gone to take bath in Markanda river near Poanta-Shaib -Nahan Road . Deceased identified as Amit Kumar and Gurvinder Singh of Kanshinawala colony of Nahan town. Bodies of deceased were also recovered.
State Diaster Management authority confirmed that after Winter iseven people have been lost life drowning in the strong current of Water as number of people having bath in the rivers to take relief the heatwave. it is worthwhile to mention that during winter season discharge of river come down due to less rain and freezing the water sources however rivers and khuds in the summer or rainy season become furious due to thawing of snow and heavy rain in the Rainny season
