HC declares Vinay Sharma Petition infructuous :DGP
Himachal Pradesh Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu said in a press statement issued here today that Himachal Pradesh High court declared Vinay Sharma’s Civil Writ Petition infructuous as state government already declared CBI probe in to police constables questions paper leak case on May 18, 2022. Mr Kundu said that advocate Vinay Sharma had filed a CWPIL ,(No. 34 of 2022) before the Himachal Pradesh High court praying to hand over the case of recruitment of Police Constables in H.P. Police to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and also requested that fresh written test for the post of Police Constables be conducted through HP Staff Selection Commission, Hamirpur. Hr said that court after initial hearing on the Petitioner on May 12, 2022, listed this the cade for hearing on May 26, 2022 and the petition filed by Vinay Sharma Advocate was disposed of on the basis of contention filed by the DGP(himself) . Vide the communication dated 25.05.2022, the Director General of Police, Himachal Pradesh informed the High Court that cases relating to recruitment of Constables in HP Police has been sent to CBI on 18.05.2022 by the Governmentof HP for further investigation. Based on this, aforesaid contention of the petition was ordered to be rendered as infructuous by the High Court. He further said that second prayer of the petitioner with regard to conducting of test for the post of Police Constable through HP Staff Selection Commission, Hamirpur was also disposed of by the High Court by holding that the petitioner has no cause of action to seek such relief from the Court finally disposed of petition.
