Hatti community seeks early implementation of reservation in the state 

Three months have passed but the state government is not implementing the amended Scheduled Tribe Act to provide reservations to the Hatti community in Himachal. 

 Media spokesperson of the community Dr Ramesh Singta said that Hatti Vikas Manch, an organization that voices the interests of Hatti’s from every front, met Tribal Development Minister Jagat Singh Negi in Shimla under the leadership of Pradeep Singta and Dr. Ramesh Singta on Wednesday.

The minister assured them that the amended ST law would be implemented as soon as the file of clarification sought from the central government reaches the state.

He said that soon after having clarification from the center notification would be issued by the state government. The minister said that if clarification did not come from the Tribal Affairs Ministry soon, he would send a reminder. 

He admitted that there was a delay in receiving the information

According to Hatti Vikas Manch, several rounds of meetings were held with the state government in this matter. The forum has again urged the state government not to delay the central law unnecessarily, otherwise, it will have to face serious consequences. 

The officials of the forum said that the humility of the people of the Hatti community should not be considered a weakness. Die to the non-implementation of the law, students are facing huge losses. Anger is increasing among them as not getting an ST certificate for admission for seeking admission in the j9gh learning institutes.
