Hati community felicitates Chief Minister on being granted ST status
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has congratulated the Hati community of district Sirmaur on being granted the status of Scheduled Tribe by the central government. He was addressing the people of Hati community during a thanksgiving program organized at Peterhof, Shimla today evening.
This program was organized by the various organizations of the Hati community. Thousands of people from the trans-Giri region of Sirmaur district felicitated the Chief Minister on the occasion.
Chief Minister said that it was a result of continuous struggle and togetherness of people. This day would be marked as a golden chapter in the history of the trans-Giri region, added the Chief Minister. He said that he personally took up the matter with the Central Government several times.
Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also kept the sentiments of 91,445 people of the Scheduled Caste population of the region and had also protected their interests. Out of the total 2,51,657 population of the trans-Giri area, 1,60,021 people would get the ST status.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the central leadership, the Chief Minister said that the state government was continuously moving ahead on the path of progress, ensuring equitable development of every section of society and every region of the state. He said that this decision of the Central Government would put the future generations of the trans-Giri region on the path of prosperity.
Member Parliament and State BJP President Suresh Kashyap expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister, Chief Minister and the central leadership for granting ST status. He said that tribal status to the Hati community had been possible only through combined efforts. He expressed hope that the people of Sirmaur district would strengthen the hands of the Chief Minister and BJP would achieve the goal of Mission Repeat.
Energy & MPP Minister Sukh Ram said that the Hati community had got the tribal status only due to the efforts of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. He said that the Chief Minister had worked diligently to ensure all round development of Sirmour district.
MLA Reena Kashyap while thanking the Chief Minister said that he had paved the way for making the future of Sirmaur district bright.
Vice Chairman, HP State Civil Supply Corporation Baldev Tomar said that the coming generations of Sirmour district would always remember Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur for this historic decision.
Chairman of the Central Hati Committee, Dr. Amichand Kamal while expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister said that the Chief Minister had provided support to the community at every step. He said that the Chief Minister had effectively presented this matter with the Central Government.
General Secretary Central Hati Committee Kundan Shastri, Shimla Unit President Pradeep Singta, Chief Spokesman Dr. Ramesh Singta, BJP leader Balbir Chauhan, other office bearers, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi, Director Information and Public Relations Harbans Singh Brascon and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
