Hamirpur people aggrieved over death of army jawan due to mine blast
People of the Hamirpur district especially the Ghumarwin village of the Lagmanwin gram panchayat of the district are highly upset and aggrieved over the sad demise of one of their sons, Sepoy Kamal Dev Vaidya due to a mine blast in operational duty in Krishna Ghati Sector, District Poonch.
A spokesman of the Indian army said that the Sepoy was critically injured in an accidental mine blast and was immediately evacuated to the nearest medical facility but he succumbed to his injuries later.
There was uproar all around when the sad news of the martyrdom of Sepoy reached his village. He is survived by his parents, an elder brother, and two married sisters. The family was preparing for his marriage but that will not be solemnized now.
Meanwhile, a large number of people have gathered at the residence of the martyr and they are consoling his family. People were raising slogans against the Pakistan and in favor of the martyr.
An official spokesman said that the cremation of the martyr would be held at his village crematorium once the body reached his village via Hamirpur. He said that the body of the martyr would reach Hamirpur at 1700 hrs at NIT, Hamirpur helipad and from there it will be taken to his native village for cremation.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur has expressed his grief shock over the sad demise of the Hamirpur soldier due to a mine blast. He has also sent condolences to the parents of the martyr.
Former Chief Minister, PK Dhumal has also expressed shock and grief over the martyrdom of the Sepoy Kamal Dev Vaidya. He said that his contribution to the nation would be remembered forever.
The cremation of the martyr, Sepoy Kamal Dev Vaidya of Ghumarwin village of the Hamirpur district will take place on Sunday as A helicopter that was to bring the body to Hamirpur could not come due to bad weather.
The official spokesman said that the martyr would be given a warm send-off by the local people and the district administration.
