Grand closing of MP Khel Mahakumbh 2.0 in Hamirpur, Jairam present along with Anurag
Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Youth and Sports Affairs, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur today attended the closing ceremony of MP Khel Mahakumbh 2.0 in Ghumarwin Assembly of Hamirpur Parliamentary Constituency. On this occasion, many dignitaries including former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Shri Jai Ram Thakur were also present.
Giving information about MP Khel Mahakumbh 2.0, Shri Anurag Thakur said, “I believe that sports have an important role in the overall development of a person and nation building. To promote sports and players in Hamirpur parliamentary constituency and Himachal Pradesh and provide them a platform. I am constantly trying to provide it. There are many unique talents present at our rural and Panchayat level which just need a platform to be discovered and brought to the fore. Keeping this in mind, I organized Khel Mahakumbh in the Hamirpur parliamentary constituency in 2018. Started which was very successful. This time also players participated enthusiastically in Mahakumbh 2.0. This time, more than 49,000 participants took part in more than 7 sports disciplines. 831 participants in Cricket, 539 in Volleyball, 371 in Kabaddi, 295 in Basketball, 169 in Football, more than 800 in Wrestling, and more than 4000 participants in Athletics showed their strength. I extend my hearty congratulations to all the players participating in the Khel Mahakumbh.
Giving information about the prize money, Shri Anurag Thakur said, “This time around ₹ 50 lakh was distributed as prize money to encourage the players. The best teams of Kabaddi, Volleyball, Basketball, and Football were given ₹ 51000 per team. In these four sports disciplines, the second-placed teams were given ₹ 31000 per team, the third-placed teams were given ₹ 21000 per team and the fourth-placed teams were given ₹ 11000 per team. Along with this, the winning cricket team was given Rs 1 lakh. ₹ 50000 was given to the runner-up, ₹ 31000 to the third team, and ₹ 21000 to the fourth team. Additionally, the players were encouraged by giving them trophies, medals, and certificates.
Addressing the gathering on the said occasion, former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in Himachal Assembly Shri Jairam Thakur said, “I got the opportunity to participate in the closing ceremony of the MP Khel Mahakumbh. This is an example of Anurag Thakur ji’s efforts to provide an opportunity and platform to the players. The program is very commendable. I believe that if the youth play, they will blossom and the Sports Mahakumbh of the Hamirpur parliamentary constituency has got its own national identity. The participation of 49000 players together shows the grandeur of this program. Many congratulations to Shri Anurag Thakur ji for this. Are eligible. In view of the wonderful development works under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the people will once again make Shri Narendra Modi the Prime Minister in 2024. The people of Himachal will also give all four seats to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Shri Anurag Thakur said, “Under the leadership of Modi ji, there has been a 360 degree change in the approach towards sports in the last 10 years in the entire country. Today, excellent sports infrastructure is being built all around. Modi Ji started the Fit India Movement and Khelo India Games which made India’s youth the flag-bearers in global competitions. Today, along with Khelo India Youth Games, Khelo India University Games and Khelo India Para Games are also held.”
Shri Anurag Thakur said that while other political parties take unfair advantage of the youth, we have chosen the path of making the youth drug-free and moving them forward through sports. Every year the number of players in Khel Mahakumbh is increasing by 20%. This time around 49 thousand players participated in the Khel Mahakumbh.
Shri Anurag Thakur further said, “If any youth has not been able to win a medal then there is no need to be disappointed because our Prime Minister says that you will blossom only if you play.
Shri Anurag Thakur appealed to the youth present to ensure their contribution in making a developed India keeping in mind the five pledges given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi by 2047 and also requested them to join the My Bharat platform.
On this occasion, many dignitaries including former minister Vikram Singh, Rajendra Garg, MLA Randhir Sharma, JR Katwal, Trilok Jamwal, BJP District President Swatantra Namaran, former MLA Subhash Thakur, Mahendra Dharmani were present.
Union Minister for Information Broadcasting and Sports Youth Minister Anurag Singh Thakur ji today took a meeting of Patta Sector of Bhoranj Assembly Constituency. In this meeting, Jaswa Pragpur MLA Vikram Thakur, both former MLAs of Bhoranj Assembly, Dr. Anil Dhiman, Mrs. Kamlesh Kumari, Parliamentary Constituency, In-charge Sumit Sharma, District President Deshraj Sharma, District General Secretary Rakesh Thakur ji, Bhoranj BJP Mandal President Ashok Thakur, Mandal General Secretary Vipin Agnihotri Ajay Sharma ji, all the village center presidents, booth president BLAs who came from the village center were present.
