Govt propose alternate survey of Sumdo – Kaza – Granphu NH

Special meeting organized under the chairmanship of ADM Mohan Dutt Sharma at Kaza to propose alternate survey for Sumdo – Kaza – Granphu high way to ensure round the year connectivity to sub-divisional headquarter in Lahaul Spiti district.

The meeting was attended on Thursday by official of Border Road organization and public representatives regarding the proposed new survey.
 The BRO proposed  three alternative bypasses road on the Sumdo – Kaza – Granphu road to have objection or consent on the proposed road.  
All the public representatives present in the meeting have agreed on the above three bypasses.  
After the agreement on the new survey proposed route ADM Mohan Dutt Sharma said that General Road Engineering Force unit of BRO would invite Public objection .
It was proposed to be constructed through Lari, Tabo and Qiling Kwang bypass. Senior officer of State Public Work Department and Gram Panchayat of concern Panchayat was invited in the meeting.
It is worthwhile to mention that after construction of Rohtang Tunnel connectivity Lahaul division remained connected with road throughout the year but after closing of Kunzum pass Spiti and other parts of subdivision cut of mainstream of life after first spell of Snowfall in the winter.
