Governor Shukla stresses on overall development of students

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla has stressed on including human values in the educational system to ensure overall development of the students. He said special emphasis has been laid on the overall development of the students in the National Education Policy-2020 and provisions have also been made for this.

He was addressing as the chief guest in one-day leadership development programme on Universal Human Values at Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur today.

The Governor said that all educationists and concerned officials should understand the basic spirit of the National Education Policy-2020 and they should work towards its implementation. He added that ideal leadership could be developed for the country and society only by instilling Indian values in the students. “Due to human values and sanskars in Indian civilization, ideal leadership in the form of Ram, Krishna, Buddha and many other great men developed naturally in different periods, which are still great ideals for us”, said Shri Shukla.

He said that in the present perspective, employment oriented education was also required, but by maintaining a balance between morality and practicality, we could create a better future for the new generation.

Appreciating HP Technical University for organizing the leadership development programme, the Governor said that these continuous efforts of the University towards inculcating human values in the students would definitely bear fruit.

Vice-chancellor Prof. Shashi Kumar Dhiman detailed about the leadership development programme on universal human values.

Former Vice-chancellor of Punjab Technical University Prof. Rajneesh Arora delivered his address on the relevance of universal human values in the present pretext and the need for their inclusion in the educational system.

Students of the University Pranjal Sharma and Avneshwari also shared their experiences on the occasion.

Vice-chancellors and former Vice Chancellors of various universities, Amarjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner Hamirpur, Bhagat Singh Thakur, Superintendent of Police, K.D.S. Kanwar, Registrar of Technical University, Principals, other officers and professors of various technical education colleges were also present in the programme.
