Citizens of Shimla run for drug free Himachal
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla flagged off the 11th HP Police Half Marathon-2024 at the historic Ridge, here today. The event, organized by the Himachal Pradesh Police Department, aims to raise awareness about drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
In his address, the Governor praised the enthusiasm shown by the people from all walks of life against the drug menace. He noted that participants included children, youth, senior citizens, and physically challenged individuals, all united in spreading the message against drug abuse.
“The police department’s effort will surely take the campaign for a drug-free Himachal to every household,” he said. Shri Shukla emphasized the importance of collective efforts to restore the dignity of Devbhoomi Himachal Pradesh and eradicate the drug menace. He urged all sections of society to participate in awareness campaigns and support initiatives against drug abuse.
The Governor also administered an oath to participants to stay away from drugs.
Director General of Police, Dr. Atul Verma gave detailed information about the 11th Half Marathon.
