Governor encourages children to adopt reading habit
Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar released the book “51 Scintillating Tales” in a program organized by Keekli Charitable Trust at the historic Gaiety Theatre, Shimla today. This book is a collection of children’s story in which the award-winning stories of children from across the country have been selected and compiled.
While appreciating the creativity of children and their high level imagination, the Governor said that these are the qualities which should be seen in the children in the present times. There is no dearth of creativity in the country but there is a need to find and encourage them.
He said that Keekli was providing a better platform alongwith proper guidance to budding children. It is our duty to guide the children properly and provide positive direction to their energy. He said that today there is a need to read good books. He said that everyone should have the habit of reading books. Not only this, one should be motivated to buy such books kept on the stall.
The Governor awarded the budding writers on the occasion.
On this occasion, the guest of honour of the program, eminent writer and lyricist Irshad Kamil said that in a society where there is thought process, there is creation and where there is creation, there is development. Creation and development is the responsibility of all.
The President of Keekli Charitable Trust, Vandana Bhagra welcomed the Governor and gave detailed information about the various activities of the Trust.
