Giving a boost to women empowerment HRTC inducts two lady conductors
Himachal Road Transport Corporation recently inducted five lady conductors two of them joined their routine duties.
Hanour of breaking glass ceiling went to Sundernagar conductor Mrs. Drumati Devi and Mrs. Sheela.
Arun Thakur hailing the entry of new entrants as HRTC Female Operator Sundernagar Depot said that woman is slowly joining every hard and challenging job.
In the recruitment conducted in 2020-21, HRTC Sundernagar Depot had got 2 women as conductors and since then, they have discharged their duties very well with honesty and hard work.
Both are discharging their duty on local routes of Sundernagar depot like Jahu, Rewalsar, Baraun, Johor, Padsal, Trifalghat, Nalni, and Bobar.
Sometimes they go to duty at 7 am and sometimes return from duty at 7 in the evening.
It is the affection and kindness of the passengers towards them that gives them the courage to move forward.
There is a different enthusiasm in every bus they are assigned duty. To promote women’s empowerment, the state government has now reserved thirty seats in the police department for women.
