Give special attention to the standard process in tunnel construction: Anupam Kashyap

Shimla 10th September – Meeting was held here today chaired by Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap to discuss the collapse of a part of the tunnel on the Kaithalighat-Dhali Forelane Stretch last days.

Deputy Commissioner said tunnel construction is an important topic related to individual safety. In this way, the standard process should be taken care of in tunnel construction, so that there is no inconvenience.
Anupam Kashyap said that a video of the outer of the tunnel collapsing went viral a few days ago. He said the tunnel had the exterior that was sitting due to heavy rain. This is how the tunnel manufacturer was demolished under the prescribed process. He said we should all avoid such misleading propaganda. The district administration has also formed a committee to investigate this which will soon submit its report.

He said all kinds of appropriate system has gone in terms of safety in tunnel construction. 24×7 is available near an ambulance tunnel in view of emergency, entry register has also been installed for people working in construction of the same tunnel. They instructed the tunnel construction company to work according to the protocol otherwise strict action will be implemented against them.

The deputy commissioner said he will soon visit site and examine the tunnel construction.

Additional District Penalty Officer (Law & Order) Ajit Bhardwaj, Deputy Board Officer (No) Shimla Rural Kavita Thakur, Indian National Highway Authority and Gawar Company Officer were also present in the meeting.
