Gaurav Samman and Prerna Srot prizes conferred on Himachal Day

On the occasion of the 76th Himachal Day function celebrated at Kaza, today, Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, conferred the Himachal Gaurav Samman prizes to those making unique contributions towards society in one way or another. Lakesh Chandel a JBT teacher in Chatt Primary School in Ghumarwin, district Bilaspur was conferred the Samman for saving the life of 36 children when the landslide struck upon the school building, Karnail Rana of Kangra district in preserving the culture of the State and promoting Folklore of Himachal through his Songs, Nem Chand of Solan district, presently posted as Superintendent in State Secretariat was honored for his contribution in literary activities and Rani of Sirmaur, presently posted as assistant Sub Inspector in Solan district for her achievements in Sports. She bagged many medals in wrestling competitions at National Level.  The Civil Services award was conferred upon the National Health Mission Himachal Pradesh, TB eradication Team. Prerna Srot Award was given to Padam Shree Nek Ram Sharma of Mandi district, Prem Singh Chauhan of Kotkhai in district Shimla and Captain Amaryot Singh, Executive Director of Pinegrove School Kasauli.
