He said that BJP is misleading People and affected farmers are called upon to give a lesson to this government by voting against ruling Candidates. Himachal Pradesh mainly includes roads like Parwanoo-Shimla, Kiratpur-Manali, Mator-Shimla, Pathankot-Mandi, Pinjore-Nalagarh, Hamirpur-Kotli-Mandi etc. Apart from these four lanes, drafts of projects are ready for making about 68 new national highways.  Land is also being acquired for Bhanupally to Bilaspur-Leh and Chandigarh-Baddi rail line for laying railway line and it is also proposed to acquire land for airport construction and expansion.  Earlier, land is also being acquired by the previous governments for laying dam/tower lines for power generation, but the government is not yet implementing the Land Acquisition Act 2013 nor does it want to give proper compensation to the farmers despite the amount is ready to be shared by the central government.

BR Kaundal, President, Land Acquisition Affected Forum (HP) said that 1 lakh affected families, including farmers, shopkeepers and other citizens, are also  affected by land acquisition in the 38 Vidhan Sabha due to land acquisition in the entire state.  Nothing has been talked about in its new manifesto.  Although a sub-committee was constituted at the ministerial level in 2018, it decided to implement Factor-2 (four times compensation), but even after a lapse of 5 years,  government has not yet taken any decision on this. On the contrary, instead of giving proper compensation, the Jairam government has reduced the circle rate of the land manifold.
