Former secretary of HPSSC to be in judicial custody

The former secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission (HPSSC) was sent in 8 days’ judicial custody in connection with the Junior Office Assistant ( Information  Technology) exam paper leak case.

On Friday Anti-corruption Bureau produced the HAS officer Jatinder Kumar Kanwar in the court and ordered judicial custody of the accused till  April 29th.  

He was arrested on April 4 and sent to police remand till April 10th and thereafter till April 21st.  

It is worthwhile to mention that Junior Office Assistance (IT) paper leak scam was unearthed on December 23 last year as SV&ACB nabbed vCommission’s senior assistant Uma Azad red-handed with a solved question paper and cash money of Rs 2.5 lakh. 

The state have to disband the commission after a further probe into the paper leak and about 31 other questions papers on recruitment being conducted by the HPSSC were found leaked. Now government merged the  Commission with the state public service commission to complete the pending staff selection process.
