Former Deputy Mayor of Shimla files FIR over heavy traffic on historic Ridge tank

Tikender Singh Panwar, the former Deputy Mayor of Shimla, has raised the alarm over alleged breaches at the iconic Ridge Tank. He has lodged an FIR against truck owners, police personnel, and district administration officials for permitting heavy vehicles to traverse the sensitive area.

Panwar has provided video evidence in his complaint, capturing large trucks and a crane moving across the Ridge. He warns that such actions not only threaten the tank’s structural integrity but also flout previous High Court orders that ban heavy vehicle traffic on the Ridge.

Expressing his deep concern over the disregard for environmental and heritage protection, Panwar has urged authorities to take swift and decisive action against the responsible parties, ensuring full compliance with the court’s directives.
