Farmers Urged to Embrace Mixed Farming for Higher Profits
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has encouraged farmers to adopt mixed farming practices and explore advanced agricultural techniques to enhance their income. Speaking as the chief guest at a one-day farmer training program held at the Research Subcenter Akrot on Wednesday, he emphasized the importance of diversifying agricultural practices to achieve sustainable growth.
The training program was jointly organized by the Research Subcenter Akrot and the District Agriculture Department, Una, under Chaudhary Sarvan Kumar Agriculture University, Palampur. The Deputy Commissioner highlighted that such initiatives are instrumental in familiarizing farmers with modern methods and boosting their earnings. He also announced that the Research Center Akrot has been granted ₹1 lakh under the Transfer of Technology Scheme by the Agriculture Department of Una for research on potato varieties.

During his visit to the research farm, the Deputy Commissioner observed ongoing research on various crops, including wheat, mustard, gram, peas, cabbage, broccoli, and potatoes. He commended the efforts of the Research Subcenter Akrot and the Agriculture Department in District Una for their dedication to uplifting farmers through innovative practices.
The training program provided farmers with detailed insights into advanced agricultural techniques, modern planting methods, crop care, and harvesting processes. Experts also introduced the latest crop varieties, aimed at reducing production costs while maximizing profits.
