Farmers to celebrate victory day on December 11 : Himachal Kisan Sabha
After accepting most of demands of Protesting Farmers in the Country Syunkat Kissan Munch decided a major victory day would be celebrated by the peasants all over the country.
A press statement issued by the Himachal Pradesh Kisan Sabha participating in the Protest along with umbrella of 36 Farmers unions hailed the letter sent to SKM by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on December 9 morning, as per the draft approved by the SKM meeting yesterday.
The letter was placed and approved in the SKM meeting today. The meeting took the following decisions amidst great enthusiasm.
December 11 shall be widely celebrated as Victory Day all over the country.
The SKM congratulated and thanked all farmers, as well as workers, agricultural workers, employees, women, youth, students and all other sections throughout the country for this unprecedented victory after over one year of a unique struggle.
On November 19, the SKM had already won its first historic victory when the Prime Minister was forced to announce the repeal of the three hated anti-farmer, anti-people and pro-corporate Farm Laws. The laws were repealed by Parliament on November 29.
It was decided to suspend the farmers struggle at the Delhi borders and the toll plazas from December 11.
On January 15, the SKM would meet in Delhi to review the progress of the government’s assurances and take further decisions as may be necessary.
The SKM would be maintained and further strengthened all over the country.
All these decisions were conveyed in a widely attended media conference today at the Singhu border. It was addressed by Rakesh Tikait, Balbir Singh Rajewal, Hannan Mollah, Dr Darshan Pal, Gurnam Singh Chaduni, Dr Ashok Dhawale, Yogendra Yadav and Shivkumar Sharma ‘Kakkaji’.
