Farmers’ outfit hails switching over to Universal standard carton

A Farmer’s outfit hailed the decision of the state government to decided implementation of universal cartons for apple packaging from the next year.  

President of Vikas Sabha Ravi Mr. Govind Chatrantha and General Secretary Maha Nand Thakur hailed this decision and expressed full cooperation to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu  Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi and other council of ministers.

They said that the incumbent state government has shown consideration to most burning issues related to farmers and Apple Growers. They said that issue of the Universal carton was being delayed despite it being in favour of lakhs of apple growers.

Farmers’ outfits said that during this tenure of Congress’s government, it has taken unprecedented decisions and saved the apple Growers from being looted at various levels.

They hoped that the government would amend the rules and leave no stone unturned in implementing the decision of Universal carton strictly.  

 Apart from this, the decision taken by the Horticulture Minister to sell apples according to weight is also highly appreciated by the farmers and growers in the state. However, it has been seen that government orders in this regard were ignored at various levels.

 They also requested the Horticulture Minister to provide all types of fertilizers in HPMC mainly 12:32: 16, 15:15:15, Urea, Potash Calcium Nitrate (Boron), etc.

Since farmers also sell apples to HPMC in return, they are provided the horticulture products. Since growers are facing a shortage of fertilizers, medicines, and equipment they have to purchase from the open market. 

Outfit hoped in the future to government would continue to do similar public welfare work for the cause of farmers.
