Expedite work on these four lanes in Himachal, Sikandar urges union minister

Dr. Sikandar Kumar, Rajya Sabha MP, raised the issue of four-lane highways from Parwanoo to Shimla, Matour to Shimla and Pathankot to Mandi in the House today. He urged the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways to expedite the work on these four-lanes. He said that with the construction of these four-lanes, not only will the distances be reduced, but movement will also become easy and exciting.
Dr. Sikander said that since Himachal is a hilly state, road construction here is no less than a challenge but the way the Central Road Transport and Highways Ministry of the Central Government is bridging the gap by constructing four-lane and national highways is commendable and praiseworthy. While the construction of four-lane roads will boost the tourism business in Himachal, it will also open doors of progress for the local people.
Dr. Sikandar Kumar raised the issue of construction of tunnel between Bangana and Dhaneta on Una to Hamirpur via Bangana, Dhaneta, Kangu Hamirpur road. He said that with the construction of this tunnel, the distance between Una and Hamirpur will be reduced by about 15-20 kilometers and the devotees visiting the famous Shaktipeeth Baba Balak Nath Temple, Mata Jwalaji Temple and Baba Balkarupi Temple established in these places will also benefit from it. While this will save time, the general public will also be able to take advantage of better transport facilities.
Dr. Sikandar Kumar urged the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways to expedite the construction work of Parwanoo-Shimla, Mataur-Shimla, Pathankot-Mandi four-lane and make efforts to complete the work of these four-lanes soon so that the general public along with tourists can avail the benefits of excellent road facilities through these four-lanes.
