Exchange among Cong-BJP on barometers of corruption

State Assembly witnessed sharp exchange between members of treasury and opposition benches on Friday as the spat turned up between two on the barometer of corruption forcing chair to adjourned the house for lunch break to pacify the agitating members of both the side. The Forest minister Rakesh Pathania participating in discussion on Governor’s address when it took ugly turn between them.

Pathania detailing his government’s achievements when opposition members started correcting him on various claims, to which the Forest minister responded in kind by levelling counter allegations. During these exchanges Congress legislator

Rebutting back Pathania said, ‘Vikramaditya Singh has no moral right to speak on corruption as it is his family that transported tonnes of apples on scooters. Besides, your farmhouse was attached by the Central agencies. So you should remain silent,” Minister cautioned him not speak on issue in the matter since he is party himself. The spat led to shouting of Salogeerning by Congress members showing solidarity with the former chief minister Virbahdra Singh’s son and the Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri said the minister must act as per the dignity of the house. After this, all Congress members stood up on their seats and started shouting slogans. Pathania said he was well aware of the dignity of the house as he was only telling the truth and it seemed that they were not accustomed to hearing the truth. But Cong. members continued to shout slogans and didn’t let Pathania complete his speech after the presiding officer announced lunch break. After Lunch break din prevailed over the minister’s incomplete adress again when he didn’t turn up in the house on time and Congress member Harshvardhan Chauhan allowed to speak on Guv address. After Chauhan, minister stood to complete unfinished before the launch but opposition members agitated over the ruling of chair. Minister not allowed by presiding member Col Inder Singh Thakur to complete his address.
