Encroachment of HP land by J&K, HP to bring matter before North Zone Council & Geological Survey of India
Himachal Pradesh Government stated today that around 16952 bigha land in Chamba district of state was illegally encroached by the Jummu and Kashmir and the matter would be raised before Interstate North Zone Council and Geological Survey of India to end the deadlock, Revenue Minister Mahinder Singh Thakur said in the state assembly on Monday. Replying to a query raised by Asha Kumari of Dalhousie, Minsiter said that the Jummu and Kashmir not only encroached upon on the Himachal Pradesh land but nine kilometer roads, a police posts and some tourism structures were also built up by the bordering administration. The correspondence began after the 2016-17 two states on the dispute. The demarcation of land happened on Dec 10 ,2021. Govt of Jammu Kashmir did not have any land records however we have Land records from 1952 TO 1998. Himachal would take up this matter with the Home minister. He also discussed similar disputes that also exist at Lahaul Spiti and at Parwanoo with the Haryana government, would be taken up with the North Zone council . He said that issue would be taken up with the Geological survey of India. The minister said that the matter was discussed between Deputy Commissioners level but it could not be resolved. He said that e construction is not allowed to people of Himachal Pradesh and officers are razing the construction . Earlier raising this issue Asha Kumari said that demacraction report was expected to be followed by the officer. She said that tourism activities are increasing in the big area almost surrounded by the state. She demanded to raise this issue before the interstate councils as construction and agricultural activities of his assembly constituents were not being allowed by the Jammu Kashmir authorities
