Encroachment in Shanan removed, NHAI took action with the help of police on orders of Himachal High Court
The campaign to remove roadside encroachments on the National Highway is going on. NHAI removed about 25 illegal encroachments in the Shanan area on Wednesday, the 10th day of the campaign. NHAI has removed 441 encroachments in the 10-day campaign.
This includes ration depots, furniture, hardware, and workshop. In addition the temple.
The encroachments made by the committee, government department, and private building owners were also removed with the help of JCB. The encroachers had encroached the NH by about 4-10 meters. There has been a stir in the city following the continuous action of the NHAI since the High Court order on March 8.
In view of this, the team of NHAI Authority started the removal of encroachment with JCB and laborers at 11:00 am on Wednesday.
441 encroachments will be removed from NH in 10 days.
Some people protested against the action. This made the atmosphere tense. But the administration and the police battalion controlled the situation.
The campaign was launched at 3:30 pm in the presence of administration, with the help of two JCBs, a ration depot was built along the NH and seven consecutive buildings were demolished. On the other hand, the Gumti adjacent to NH of the Rural Development Department was also uprooted. A person had put a gate on the road from NH to his house without permission. It was also demolished. Around 441 encroachments have been removed from Tutikandi crossing to Hasanvalley NH in the month of May. Engineer Kunjang Hishe Negi informed that illegal encroachments will be removed from Dhalli Tunnel to Tribal Bhavan on May 26, from Tribal Bhavan to Naresh Brother Shop on May 27, from Naresh Brother Shop to Dhalli Chowk on May 29, and from Dhalli Chowk to Hasan Valley on May 30.
Meanwhile, Kuldeep Sing Tanwar President of Himachal Kisan Sabha has requested the Government to compensate the losses of the local people and appeal to the High Court to give sufferers time to evacuate.
