Tanda Medical College Hosts Cultural Evening “Conxus 2024”; Major Announcements Made
Tourism Corporation Chairman RS Bali emphasized the state government’s dedication to elevating the quality of education and healthcare in Himachal Pradesh during the second cultural evening of “Conxus 2024” at Tanda Medical College. Speaking as the chief guest on Saturday night, he announced several initiatives aimed at improving facilities and infrastructure.
Ideal Health Institutions Across Constituencies
Bali revealed that a comprehensive action plan is being implemented to enhance healthcare accessibility and quality. Under this plan, each assembly constituency will have a model health institution equipped with modern machinery and infrastructure, with a budget of ₹1 crore allocated per institution.
He also announced that all college casualty departments would be upgraded to emergency medicine departments. Highlighting the state’s focus on cancer care, he mentioned the establishment of a State Cancer Institute equipped with cutting-edge technology to address the rising number of cancer patients.
Tribute to Late GS Bali
Remembering his father, the late GS Bali, RS Bali credited him for envisioning Tanda Medical College, which has become a premier medical institution in Himachal Pradesh. “Thousands of patients from across the region come here for treatment,” he said, reflecting on his father’s contributions to the state’s development.
Major Announcements for Tanda Medical College
Bali made significant financial commitments during the event. He announced ₹90 lakh to set up gyms in nine hostels of the medical college to support students’ physical fitness. Additionally, he pledged ₹2 lakh to the event organizers for the successful execution of the program.
Cultural Evening Highlights
The cultural evening featured captivating performances by trainee doctors, showcasing their artistic talents. Executive Principal Dr. Milap welcomed the chief guest and detailed the college’s ongoing activities. Trainee Physicians Organization President Ayush Thakur also addressed the gathering, presenting the issues faced by trainee doctors.
The event was graced by prominent personalities, including Additional Director Dr. Suman Gupta, Dr. Major Avnindra Kumar, departmental heads, and other faculty members, alongside the trainee doctors.
With its focus on healthcare and education reforms, the state government, under leaders like RS Bali, is working to create a future-ready Himachal Pradesh.
