Earthquake jolts many places in Himachal Pradesh

An Earthquake measuring about five magnitude jolted many places in Himachal Pradesh including Chamba, Kangra, Hamirpur Bilaspur, and Una districts this afternoon.

A report received here from Indian Seismological Centre said that the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Doda area of Jammu along the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh.

The Epicenter was located at a latitude if 31.15 and longitude of 75.82 and six km deep at 1333 hrs and a Magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter scale.

No loss of life and property was reported but the shockwave was so high that people realized the tremor lasted a few seconds.
