Due to a minor fault, there was a power outage in Peeran for 22 hours

Due to a minor fault in the transformer, there was a power outage for 22 hours in the last Panchayat Peeran of Mashobra Block. The main reason for this is said to be the shortage of staff in the electricity sub-division Junga. Due to the shortage of staff, field workers from Koti reached the spot 21 hours after the power was cut and they restored the power supply within an hour.
Former Pradhan of Peeran Panchayat Atar Singh Thakur, Daulat Ram Mehta, Dayaram Verma, Chunni Lal Thakur, Pritam Thakur, Suresh Sharma, Chanchal Verma, Jabar Singh Thakur, and many others said that the people of Peeran Panchayat are very troubled by the unannounced power cuts. They say that on 27th August, due to light rain, the power went off at 3 pm, which was restored at 1 pm on 28th August. Due to the power outage, it became difficult for people to recharge their mobiles and other electrical appliances. People demand that the post of T-mate or lineman be created in Peeran so that any minor fault can be resolved on time.
Atar Singh Thakur and Pritam Thakur say that after a lot of efforts, Peeran Panchayat was connected to Sirmaur’s sub-station Sheelabag so that uninterrupted power supply could be ensured to the people of this Panchayat, but since its control is with the Junga office, the Sheelabag line is not being maintained properly. To fix a fuse, the employee has to come from Koti.
Let us tell you that a total of 17 posts are vacant in Junga Vidyut Sub Division including one post of Assistant Engineer and three posts of JE. The responsibility of 136 transformers installed in the field is on the shoulders of only 12 field employees, due to which sometimes it takes two days to fix a fuse. However, the field staff is working in adverse conditions.
Due to the vacancy of the main post in Junga office, no officer was available. When the field technical staff was talked to about this, they told that if the electricity board does not fill the posts of technical staff in time, then it will be difficult to make the electricity supply normal in Junga sub division.
