Drone service will be used for disaster management and GIS mapping in Chamba: DC
Deputy Commissioner DC Rana said that drone service has been started in the district for works related to disaster management and GIS mapping. While interacting with the media persons after inspecting the drone training activities conducted by the District Disaster Management Authority in the historic Chaugan of Chamba today, the Deputy Commissioner said that on the basis of the pilot project in the district, the Police Department, Civil and Police Department for relief and rescue work and GIS mapping. Drone operation training for a period of 15 days has been provided to 4 employees from the Minister of Defense and District Disaster Management. He told that the drone service will prove to be important for relief and rescue work and GIS mapping under disaster management in the district.
Announcement facility is also available through mega phone along with the facility of night vision in the operation of the drone. It is also capable of carrying a payload up to 750 grams up to 5 kilometers. On this occasion, Additional District Magistrate Amit Mehra, SDM Bharmour Manish Soni, Forest Divisional Officer Chamba Amit Sharma, Master Trainer of Idea Forge Company along with local employees of District Disaster Management Unit were present.
