District Admin Kinnaur prepares for monsoon season
All the concerned departments of Kinnaur should complete all necessary preparations for the monsoon season, this was directed by Deputy Commissioner Kinnaur Torul S. Ravish on Saturday
Deputy Commissioner Torul S Ravish instructed the Jal Shakti Department to ensure the cleanliness of all drinking water storage tanks in the district and the cleaning of all wells in the district. She said that department must ensure proper chlorination so that waterborne diseases can be prevented. She also instructed the department to do regular testing of water.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed to ensure the cleanliness of the tanks of all the schools and urged the general public of the district to ensure the cleanliness of their private tanks so that water-borne diseases could be avoided during the monsoon season.
She also directed the officials of the Public Works Department to ensure the cleanliness of the tanks of all the residential colonies of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner ordered to check and repair of the early warning system equipment installed in the landslide-prone places (Batseri, Nigulseri, Kupa, Urni Dhank, Purvani Jhula, and Pagal Nala) in the district.
She also instructed the public representatives and representatives of voluntary organizations associated with the early warning system to make them aware of the early warning system.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the Special Area Development Authority to ensure the cleaning of all the drains and drains coming into the Sada area before the monsoon season.
She directed the Food and Civil Supplies Department to ensure the supply of essential commodities till the first week of July in places where there is excess rainfall.
A control room has already been set up at the district headquarters, which remains active 24 hours and any person can give emergency information on toll-free no. 1077 at the time of disaster. DC directed the District Disaster Management Committee to buy the necessary material on time to deal with the disaster.
