Deployment of Himachal cadre IAS to five states assembly poll, temporary reshuffles likely
Deployment of as many as 20 Indian Administrative Services officers from Himachal Pradesh including State Chief Electoral Officer Manish Garg for five states assembly poll, a major reshuffle is expected today.
According to preliminary information received from the state government said that CEO Manish Garg who is also posted as State Finance and Planning secretary may be relieved from both finance and Planning charges. Both the change was handed over 1998 batch IAS and Principal Secretary Devesh Kumar. Currently, Mr Kumar is looking after the Urban Development Department, Town and Country Planning (TCP), and Tourism.
The state finance and Planning were taken from Manish Garg as he couldn’t not retain additional charges of CEO during assembly elections from the date of notification of give assembly poll in the country.
Similarly, 20 other IAS of the state who are deployed in assembly elections in the five states of the country may have to temporarily shift their charges in the next two to four days. According to sources massive reshuffle in large administrative services could be expected in the next few days.
IAS officer Sudesh Kumar Mokta has left for Manipur today, soon other IAS and IPS will also go on election duty.
The secretaries of many departments and deputy commissioners could be changed in some districts and additional charges would alloted against many of them in the hill State.
The posting of many Deputy Commissioner also expected to be due as they have to get posted by the state six months after the next Lok Sabha election as many of them who have completed three years tenure also have to transfer by the state governments.
