Dense fog in low-lying regions of Himachal
The upcoming days in Himachal Pradesh are anticipated to have clear weather, yet a cautionary alert has been issued regarding dense fog in the plains. The Meteorological Center in Shimla has declared a yellow alert for low-lying regions including Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Solan, Mandi, and Sirmaur until January 6. Conversely, the central and high hill districts, encompassing Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, Mandi, Kullu, Chamba, Kinnaur, and Lahaul-Spiti, are expected to experience clear weather.
In response to the fog alert, the Meteorological Department has urged residents to stay vigilant. Special emphasis has been placed on drivers, advising them to exercise caution and drive with care.
Simultaneously, the plains of the state are currently grappling with dense fog during morning and evening hours, contributing to intense cold conditions. The prevalence of dense fog has led to a unique phenomenon where many areas witness the appearance of the Sun only after noon, providing residents with a distinctive experience.
