Denotification of Institutions, Opposition walk out from state assembly
On the very first day of 14th state legislative Assembly and first day of Winter session here today members of the opposition party led the leader of the opposition and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur walked out of the assembly protesting against the denotification number of Institutions opened by previous BJP government. The protem speaker Chander Kumar had just welcomed and greeted newly elected legislators in the house Leader of Opposition and former Jai Ram Thakur Thakur raised the issue stating that Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu government soon after assuming power has denotified number of Institutions opened by the previous Government. All the members of treasury benches who have didn’t taken oath of member of Assembly opposed Jairam Thakur. However soon after taking oath Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu announced that this government will review the denotification decision of the government. He said that those Institution were opened without having budget provisions and functional staff were denotified by the government which would be reviewed by the next council of ministers. However, LOP Jai Ram Thakur did not agree to review the decision and the opposition party walked out after shouting the slogans. Outside the Assembly Jairam Thakur said that it was for the first time in the history of Himachal Pradesh that such a situation has cropped up. He said that the budget was allotted by the cabinet for these institutions and the staff was also deputed. He said that if some institutions are short of staff the present government should fill up these posts. Jairam Thakur said that perhaps the concerned authorities may have given wrong information to the chief minister but he should at least verify the facts after going through the facts.
