Dehra is now ours, Sukhwinder Sukhu attended Bar Association program
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today participated in the program of Bar Association Dehra in Dehra Assembly constituency and campaigned in favour of Congress candidate Kamlesh Thakur from Dehra. He said that earlier the slogan in Dehra was ‘Dehra koi nahi tera’ but now ‘Dehra ab ho chuka hamara’. He said that the state government will leave no stone unturned in the development of Dehra. The state government is going to build an international level zoo here at a cost of Rs 650 crore, the construction work of which has started. This zoo will emerge as a new tourist center on the map of Kangra district, in which tourists will be able to get the experience of safari along with world class facilities. He said that the purpose of building a zoo in Bankhandi of Dehra Assembly constituency is to promote tourism, so that tourists can stay here for a few days and enjoy the tourist areas here. Along with this, the state government is also spending a lot of money to promote adventure activities in Pong Dam. He said that if tourism increases in the area, local youth will get employment and self-employment opportunities and economic prosperity will come. He said that the fortunes of Dehra are about to rise.
Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the office of Superintendent of Police and SE (PWD) will also be opened in Dehra, which has been approved in the cabinet. The state government is considering opening many more government offices in Dehra, which will be announced after the elections. In the coming time, the model of development of Dehra will be made after discussion with all sections. He said that due to the efforts of the present government, the construction work of Central University has also started in Dehra, while the forest clearance was not being done for years in the previous governments.
The Chief Minister said that for the first time in the history of the country, independent MLAs protested outside the Vidhan Sabha to get their resignations accepted. He said that it would have been better if Hoshiar Singh had sat on a protest for the development of Dehra but due to personal interest, he traded the public sentiments of Dehra and got sold in the political market of BJP. He said that due to the pressure of BJP, all the three independent MLAs have left their MLA post, which is not being liked even by the honest workers of BJP. Hoshiar Singh should tell the people of Dehra that if he had to sit in the opposition, then why is he holding elections again. Even while being independent, he could have sat with BJP but under the pressure of BJP, independent MLAs have imposed by-elections on the people. Therefore, the public will teach a lesson to the independent MLAs.
Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that these three by-elections are a fight between honesty and dishonesty and a fight to strengthen democracy. He said that there is no threat to the Congress government because the number of Congress MLAs in the Assembly is 38. The Congress government will complete its term and new records of development will be established in the entire state. He said that the state government is making every effort to increase economic resources, for which it is promoting tourism as well as exploitation of green energy. He said that the state government has started exploitation of 32 MW solar energy in Una district and the foundation stone of 10 MW solar energy project has also been laid in Aghlaur. All these steps are being taken in the direction of making the state self-reliant.
On this occasion, Ayush Minister Yadavendra Goma, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Ashish Butail, Vice President of State Planning Board Bhawani Singh Pathania, MLAs Sanjay Ratan and Kewal Singh Pathania, former MLAs Yograj and Ajay Mahajan, State Congress Treasurer Dr. Rajesh Sharma along with officials and members of Bar Association Dehra were present.
