DC & MLA takes stock of landslides affected Chamba-Bharmour NH
Deputy Commissioner Chamba D C Rana and Legislator Jai Lal Kapoor took stock of situation after visiting landslides affected Chamba-Bharmaur National Highway near Maihala Wednesday, a district spokesman of Goverment said today.
MLA Jialal Kapoor and Deputy Commissioner DC Rana took stock of the condition of the road road blocked by heavy landslides on the Chamba-Bharmour National Highway near Maihala this morning and later held a meeting with the experts to early restoration of high way and contain caving in and landslides prone spots which are dusripting movement of traffic
In the meeting, a detailed discussion was held his to restore the road. Experts suggested to use various measures like high pressure spray of water, control blasting, manual stepping, among others to restore the road.
It was decided in the meeting that the Executive Engineer would provide JCB machines on both sides of National Highway and Power Project JSW road.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Chief Medical Officer to deploy Medical Officers and necessary paramedical staff in the Community Health Center, Chwodi, inorder to cater emergency In-wake of disruption of traffic.
He also asked the Block Development Officer Maihala to repair the walkway.
SDM Chamba Naveen Tanwar informed that relief funds are being provided to a family affected by the landslide.
On this occasion, Executive Engineer National Highway Rajiv Sharma, Executive Engineer Public Works Jeet Singh Thakur, Deputy Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu, District Transport Officer Omkar Singh, District Mining Officer JK Puri, Block Development Officer Chamba OP Thakur were present.
Due to heavy rain and snowfall around 400 roads including half dozen of NH affected in the state which are being restored on war footing however rescue operation being hampered by the frequent rain and snow.
