CPM seeks probe in multi-billion pipe deal by former BJP Minister
On set of New Congress Government, Former Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur and opposition BJP are accusing former for unleashing Poltical vendata but later seemed to be troubled as its former minister is now one the target of CPI(M) local committee demanded high-level probe into alleged embezzlement of multi-billion pipe purchase deal. Dharmpur CPI( (M) Secretary Bhupinder Singh wrote Chief Minister Sukhu government to investigate the mess in the Jalshakti department, at the behest of former minister Mahendra Singh Thakur. He accused the BJP leader for siphoned many thousands crore in pipe and pump scam. He stated that Congress Government is reviewing the development works done by BJP in last few months being in power but it should probe the biggest
scam in the history of the state which was carried out under the patronage of the minister of the department itself. Thousands of Crores have been embezzled in this scam.” If the state government gets it investigated thoroughly, this scam till date biggest ever scal can come in front of the public.”, party Dharmpur unit said in a press release. Party demanded from Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri should constitue high level probe team to prove his allegations. He alleged that during in-charge of IPH or Jalshakti Vibhag water pipes worth billions of rupees have been purchased in Dharampur division under the Jaljeevan Mission of the Government of India. The pipes have not been taken according to the prescribed norms and bribery has taken place on a large scale in the tender given for laying them. Not only this, the supply of these pipes has also been rampant in the villages and in the name of replacing all the old pipes, they are being sold to private companies. He also alleged that the people of the ruling party have used these pipes in their homes and many have even built their houses with these pipe. They have also demanded that the pipes purchased under the irrigation scheme from Kandha port to Baroti Mandap and from Sandhol to Dhadta are of substandard quality. These pipes could not withstand to high pressure pipelines and water pressure is bursting it. He said that these pipes have been purchased in advance for the future as well and this purchase has been made from a favorite company, which should also be investigated. New drinking water supply from Kadhapatan to Tehra area was also indulged corruption but minister remained silent and got the new pipeline installed without getting it investigated. CPM leader also alleged that all the pumps of water lifting Scheme were replaced but new pumps are bought many times more than the market price. He has expressed the hope that the present new government would not compromise with such baltent exposure of corruption and expected bring the culprits to book.
