CPI(M) seeks immediate withdrawal of Petrol, Diesel & LPG prices
State Unit of CPI(M) currently lodging state wide protest over skyrocketing of prices of fuel and other commodities in the country demanded withdrawal of Petrol, Diesel and LPG cylinders
A fortnight long campaign begun from Jun 16 to 30 in the state termed the Modi Government to burden the peopleby causing inflation at the time of Corona Pandemic when the household economy of people is already dismantled
State Secretary of CPI(M) Onkar Shad asid that since May 2 , 2021 after the Assembly election was over Modigovernment is increasing the prices of fuel and essential commodities as the prices of fuel have hiked 22 times in last one month.
The prices of Petrol is keeping above 100 per litre which have made a bench mark inflation under the Modirule never witnessed earlier. The prices of pluses, edible oils and Mustard oil touching Rs 200 per litre and wholesale price index rose by 12.5 per cent which is top in last 11 yrs.\Retail prices showed inflation of six percent and people were faced to buy the essential commodities on theexorbitant prices The State Government hiked the prices of PDS Mustard oil Rs 160 per litre which is also highest ever..
The state and centre government have increased the charges of Water, Electricity, LPG gas and bus fare in thetime of Corona pandemic, Terming the economic policy antipeople and in favour of big corporates CPI(M)said that package stimulus is being announced to favour the corporates despite the purchasing power of people have been shrinked widely. The Government forced the people to the brink of hunger.
Party said that the centre should announce Rs 7500 hand out for next six month to those families who are below thepoverty line. Minimum ten kg ration should have been supplied free of cost including pulses, edible oil, sugarspices and tea to such family
The black marketing and Essential Commodities act should be implemented strictly to stop the inflation . the collections of power, water, property tax and garbage and other charges should be waived off to the poor people and small businessmenduring the time of Covid lock down
