Court convicts accused in NDPS &  POCSO Act : Policew

Himachal Pradesh Police claimed that Courts have convicted the accused in two NDPS and a POCSO Act cases as the accused are invovled in drug pedalling and rape and murder of victims the court prounced three verdict during this week. Spokespersons of state police said in a press release issued here today that during this week ,two cases registered under head Narcotics Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act , 1985 and one case of POCSO Act & one case under head attempt to murder were decided by the Ld court which ended in conviction . Sharing  the details of these cases the spokesperson said that in first case Case( FIR No.  90/2016) of  dated 24.09.2016 was registered under section  18,20 ND & PS Act  at Police station Kandhaghat in  Solan district against accused Inder Singh resident of Padali village of Tehsil & PS Kandaghat at present Shopkeeper near  Bahara University , Waknaghat ( Solan ). Police recovered 52 grams of charas and 10 grams of opium from his possession .  In this case charge sheet was filed in the court on 30.11.2016.  Ld court of JMFC Kandaghat vide judgement on July 6 , .2022 convicted the accused with rigorous imprisonment of 6 months and fine five thousand each totaling 10,000 / – .In  2nd  Case( FIR No.  188/13 )  of dated 24.05.2013 lodged under section 15 ND & PS Act was registered at PS Paonta Sahib district Sirmour against accused Ramesh Chand and Anil Kumar   both Village and post office Staun of Paonta Sahib , District Sirmour  and recovered 05 kilogram poppy husk from their possession .  In this case, charge sheet was filed in the court on 22.07.2013.  Ld court of ADJ Nahan vide judgement dated 06.07.2022 convicted the accused with imprisonment of 07 years and fine Rs 50,000/- .in 3rd Case ( FIR No.  42/2013) of dated 09.03.2013 under section 376 , 511,506 IPC & 6 , 18 POCSO Act , Police Station , Nalagarh , Police District Baddi , against accused Jagdev Chand S / O Ram Niranjan Village Tapparian ( Karsoli ) Tehsil Nalagarh & District Solan ,  On the complaint of grandfather of the victim In this case, charge sheet was filed on 06.05.2013 in the Ld.  court by the Police.  Ld.  Court of Special Judge , FTC ( POCSO ) Solan vide judgement dated 08.07.2022 has convicted the accused with imprisonment of 6 years and fine .  of Rs.  10,000 ., in 4 th case (FIR No.  128/2018 ) of dated 01.06.2018 under section 452 , 324 , 307 IPC was registered at PS Sunder Nagar District Mandi against accused Daleep Kumar on the complaint of Roshan Lal S / O Bahader Village Talwali P / O Jugahan , Sunder Nagar , District Mandi  .  In this case, charge sheet was filed on 18.07.2018 in the Ld.  Court by the Police.  Ld Court Additional Session Judge, Sunder Nagar, vide judgment on 08.07.2022 convicted the accused with imprisonment of 05 years and fine Rs 17,000/-.  The investigation of above cases were carried out promptly.  and professionally by the Investigating Officers , as a result , the police was able to secure convictions in the above mentioned cases .
